easter

luckily ryan brought the cable to his camera...so here's easter. easter sunday began with mclayne discovering her fairy basket. it was complete with candy filled eggs, bubbles, books, and wings. mclayne apparently didn't catch on to the fairy theme and glided around saying "i'm a little butterfly." then we got ready for church and tried unsuccessfully to get a picture of mclayne in her dress. as you can see below cole was much more cooperative. after church we had an easter egg hunt with an insane amount of eggs...602! everyone's included, so me, ryan and mclyane needed to find 69 big eggs and an unlimited amount of mini eggs. i let mclayne and ryan work as a team and set out to find 23 of my own. after finding the coveted $20 egg, i gave my mom's back a break and cole and i found the last few for mclayne and ryan. it was a lot of work...and a lot of fun! the day ended with two scavenger hunts. one with riddles for the older kids and pictures for the younger ones. i think easter is my new favorite holiday!

new season...new hair?

i left my usb cable at home + am unable to post new pictures, so instead of an easter post we're stuck with a hair post. yesterday while looking through stacks + stacks of old pictures for a project i'm working on, i came across a picture of ryan + me about a month after we were married. and i think after one year of dark hair i'm ready to go blonde again for the summer. i'm actually suprised i was able to leave it dark for as long as i did. so, althought the "natural look" has is pros and i'm not sure trying to maintain blonde hair with two kids is the best idea, i'm going to do it. more like i HAVE to do it. it's like a drug...i went cold turkey and now the itch is back. i can't help but scratch!

three long years

ryan + i had our 3rd anniversary on tuesday. so much has happened since we were married...it seems like our 25th! we've moved 3 times to 3 different states, bought 2 houses, sold a house (luckily!), and had 2 kids. i took the CPA exam, got my first "real job" + then went into retirement. two jobs for ryan too...and the CFA exam! um yeah...we really needed to celebrate! since we are in utah for easter, we were able to go to tepanyaki last night. it was the first time we have gone out to dinner alone since our anniversary last year...crazy! then we got comfortable in the love sac and watched dan in real life. it was sooooo nice we're going to do the exact same thing next weekend...well almost. maybe a different appetizer (a deep-fried sushi roll instead of gyoza) and a different movie....any suggestions?

not pregnant!

i will admit my previous disclaimer was not too clear, so...not pregnant, never thought we were pregnant, not going to pregnant any time soon!!!

to clarify...
• while blogging about the new car decided, for no good reason, to post that we are expecting…don’t ask me why?
• i slowly realize what a bad “joke” it was and two days later finally get around to recanting
• yesterday got an email that people still thought i was pregnant and thought, “how can that be?”
• went back + read post that was supposed to set things straight and realize that, if read while still thinking I’m pregnant, only confirms it…oops!
• which brings us to today’s crystal clear post and the fact that I am retarded. At least now I don’t have to worry about an april fools, right?!

our big colebear

yes, cole had his 2 month check-up today. his stats:

height: 23 inches 50% (i'm pretty sure the nurse measured wrong)
weight: 13 lbs 3 oz 90%
head: 16 inches 70%

so, for a stewart baby, he's huge! 2 weeks ago i took a picture of cole in the only hand-me-down he got from mclayne. in the picture cole is 7 weeks & mclayne is over 4 months old...she was rolling over and obviously undressing herself by then! i'm just glad i got it out of storage in time for him to wear it (thanks again marianne + shannon)!

birthday?

while i have always viewed my birthday as "just another day," that has never been more true than yesterday! i was actually taken by suprise when my mom called me to wish me a happy birthday. then i called ryan to drop a few hints to confirm that he too had forgotten...check! about an hour later when the hints sunk in he called and invited me to lunch...ok sounds pretty good. mclayne falls asleep in the car and we decide to take lunch home...how exciting! i took ryan back to work, took mclayne + cole to the library for the first time, survived an unbelievable toddler meltdown, and was in bed by 9:15. man, think i'll just take a mulligan and try again on saturday!!!
however, my highlight of the day is definetly this artwork by mclayne. a few times a week i'll sit down with mclayne and draw pictures with her. yesterday she wanted to paint a gorilla we had sketched. this is typical mclayne art...contolled, thoughtful, not too much. she has two books filled with these...i love them! best present ever!!

little birds + a slide show

today i made some boards for mclayne's room. i love that they are both cork and magnetic. just covered them in fabric and added a few little birds...
also, a slide show of my two, and only two, kids. pregnant again...no way!!! i have heard of it happening, but i am not yet ready to join the land of the totally insane! so for now i'll just enjoy my little craft, what sanity i have left, and hopefully a dozen free cupcakes from so cupcake!
